Muckrackers Ronald Watts

"Those officers were allowed to remain on the street and make these mass arrests over and over and over again for close to a decade and that's why we're in this mess and that's why we're lucky to have a state's attorney's office who is willing to finally keep the promises to clean up police corruption and start to get a measure of justice for went on for so long," said attorney Joshua Tepfer. Still, I believe many people in the police force are corrupt but, All in all Watts was a very corrupt man and he obviously didn't take very much pride in his job. I'm glad that he got caught and that he isn't in the police force today.

I'm doing my blog on Corruption in the Chicago Police. This Article was written September 24th, 2018, by Cate Cauguiran. Eighteen people that were linked to Police Sergeant, Ronald Watts, arrests got flipped around September 24th. Basically he made a lot of false claims about drug cases that led to 14 people staying in jail for close to 4 years or probation for no reason. Watts had a corrupt group of cops that went with him on false "drug busts" and charged men with false charges. Some of the people that he false convicted were just let out last June. Watts then pleaded guilty to corruption after his arrest and served 22 months in federal prison. They also took many bribes from people that weren't guilty of anything. All of the convicted people said "we complained, we complained, we complained. Wrote letters, did everything, nobody listened. Nobody listened. It took this to happen," said Vondell Wilbourn, who had charges dismissed.

  1. This article is very interesting. It really opens peoples eyes to the fact that there are police officers out there that are truly corrupt. It is crazy to know that this police officer was able to get away with these types of things for many years, and that it is just coming out now. This really helps shed a light on how some police officers are acting today.

  4. Pretty good content in your summary. I also liked how you included the passage from the article. I think you put this passage just to get the required length limit but once again had very good content.
